You Do Not Need Great Credit to Buy a Home

February 15, 2016

First time home buyers are finding it may not be so difficult to purchase a home with credit flaws. For years people have had the idea that to buy that dream home, you need great credit. Many are left thinking they need to repair the credit problems they have, but are often lost as to what they really need to do. The answer may just be, nothing. FHA offers loan programs for less than perfect credit, and often only require a small down payment.

FHA loans can provide the assistance many first time home buyers are looking for to get into that new house right now. If you have been putting off shopping for that new home because of credit worries, FHA could be your answer. FHA not only has a low down payment, but competitive interest rates. In addition to the lower rates, FHA can offer lower closing costs to the new home buyer, including mortgage insurance.

Maybe you have had a foreclosure or filed for bankruptcy in the past. Believe it or not, that doesn't mean you are excluded from qualifing for that FHA loan. Having credit that is re-established after a bankruptcy or foreclosure may be enough to satisfy FHA requirements. Here at GSF Mortgage, we will help you determine if you credit qualifies and easily navigate the application process. We want to be sure you can own your dream home comfortably!
